Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 October 2026.
Agreement
These terms are the contract between you and WMAD LLC ("we", "us") for the website at gettingmarried.email and for the mailboxes we sell there. If you use the site or pay for a mailbox, you agree to these terms, to our Privacy Policy, and to our Refund Policy. If you are buying for a couple, a household, or another organization, you confirm that you may bind that organization, and "you" includes it.
Questions about these terms go to privacy@gettingmarried.email.
The service
We sell a real mailbox at an address you choose on the domain gettingmarried.email, for a fixed term. The mailbox is created on infrastructure operated by our mail host, MXroute. You can read and send mail in MXroute's webmail and, with the password you set, in any mail client that speaks IMAP and SMTP.
Terms currently offered are 6, 12, and 24 months. The lengths on sale, and the price of each, are whatever the site shows when you pay. We can change the catalog for future purchases and for later renewals. The price you already paid for a term does not change during that term. Prices on this site are in US dollars and do not include tax. At checkout, Stripe calculates any sales tax, VAT, or GST that applies where you are, and may show the total in your local currency. The total on the Stripe checkout page is the amount charged. In countries where Stripe's Managed Payments does not cover indirect tax, that tax remains our responsibility.
You receive a time-limited right to use the address you paid for. You do not buy the domain, a trademark, or a permanent claim on that address. When the mailbox is deleted under these terms, we may offer the same address to someone else.
Who may buy
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract where you live. The service is not directed at children. One person should complete checkout. You are responsible for anyone you allow to use the mailbox.
Choosing an address
An address is available only if it is not already held and it is not on our block list. We block administrative names (such as admin, postmaster, abuse, support, privacy, and refund) and a short list of profanity, and we may add to that list. We may also refuse an address that is misleading, that impersonates another person, or that we reasonably believe will be used in breach of these terms.
Availability can change between the moment the site says an address is free and the moment you pay. If someone else pays for it first, or if our check against the mail host disagrees with the page, we will not create a second mailbox for the same address.
The hold while you pay
When you submit a contact email and continue to payment, we place a one-hour hold on that address (a soft-lock) and open a Stripe Checkout page. During that hour nobody else can buy the address. If payment does not succeed within the hour, the hold ends on its own and the address is free again. Leaving Stripe's checkout with its back link, or canceling on our page before you are redirected, releases the hold immediately. A card decline stays on Stripe's page so you can try another card without losing the hold.
The hold is a chance to finish checkout. It is not a purchase, and it is not a promise that the address will still be yours after the hour. You are not charged for a hold that expires unpaid.
Payment
You pay on a Stripe-hosted checkout page. For that payment, Stripe Managed Payments applies and Link is the merchant of record: the charge is sold through Link, your statement shows Link, and Link calculates and collects applicable indirect tax, sends the payment receipt and invoice, and handles transaction support and card disputes. WMAD LLC is who you contract with for the mailbox itself. Card numbers, billing address, and any phone number the checkout asks for are entered on Stripe's page and do not reach our servers.
There is no subscription and no automatic renewal charge. Each term, including a renewal, is a separate prepaid payment. Link's tools for managing a subscription do not apply, because we do not create one. You authorize us to begin provisioning as soon as Stripe tells us the payment succeeded.
What happens if provisioning fails, and when a completed purchase can be refunded, is in the Refund Policy, which is part of these terms.
The term, reminders, and renewal
The term starts when the payment succeeds and we record the mailbox. It runs for the number of months you bought. Renewal is manual. We email the contact address you gave us about 14 days, 7 days, and 1 day before the term ends, with a link you can use to pay for another term. You may choose a different length for the next term. The renewal price is the price shown at the time you renew, which may differ from the price you paid before.
Those emails are part of the service. They are not a marketing list, and we do not charge you for sending them.
If you do not renew
When the term ends and you have not renewed, the mailbox enters a 7-day grace period. We lock you out by replacing the mailbox password with a random value we do not store and do not send you. You cannot sign in to send or read mail during that time. Because of how the mail host works, messages people send to the address may still be accepted and stored until the mailbox is deleted or you renew. The grace period is a last chance to renew, not a promise that new mail will bounce.
We email the contact address when this happens and tell you the date the mailbox will be deleted. If you renew during the grace period, we send a new one-time link so you can choose a new password. We cannot put the old password back.
If the grace period ends without a renewal, we delete the mailbox at the mail host. Deletion includes the messages stored there. We cannot restore them. The address may then be sold again. Ending a term this way is the ordinary end of the service, not a defect.
Your password
After a successful purchase, and again if you renew a mailbox that was locked in the grace period, we email a one-time setup link to your contact address. The link currently expires 7 days after we send it, and it works once. You choose the mailbox password. It is sent to the mail host so the mailbox can be opened, and we do not store it. Keep the password, and the contact inbox that receives the link, as you would any other credential. If the link expires before you use it, write to privacy@gettingmarried.email and we will send another.
Acceptable use
The mailbox is for a couple's wedding correspondence and the ordinary personal mail that goes with planning a wedding: guests, vendors, registries, and similar. You agree not to use it, and not to let anyone else use it, for any of the following:
- Anything illegal, or anything that helps someone else break the law.
- Spam, phishing, malware, or any unsolicited bulk or commercial mailing.
- Harassment, threats, or abuse of any person.
- Impersonating a person, business, or official you are not entitled to speak for, including by the address you choose.
- Scripted or repeated attempts to hold, squat, or resell addresses, or any other interference with checkout.
- Running a business mailing list, a marketing platform, or a shared inbox for an organization that is not the couple buying the address.
Your use is also subject to MXroute's own rules, including its limits on abuse and on sending volume. Those rules are published at mxroute.com/terms. The mail host can suspend sending on a mailbox that looks compromised or that draws spam complaints, even when we have not ourselves decided that you broke these terms.
We may suspend or delete a mailbox that we reasonably believe is being used in breach of these terms, including before the term ends. Where we can do so without helping the abuse continue, we will email the contact address and describe what we did. A suspension or deletion for breach does not entitle you to a refund, except where the law requires one.
What you store in the mailbox
You keep all rights in the messages you send and receive. You give us and the mail host only the limited permission required to host, transmit, and deliver that mail, and to back up our own account records, for as long as these terms say we keep them. We do not claim ownership of your mail, and we do not use it for advertising or to train machine-learning models.
You are responsible for the contents of the mailbox and for having the rights you need to send what you send. Export or copy anything you need before the term and grace period end. After we delete the mailbox, the copy at the mail host is gone.
Our site
The site, its design, and its text (other than your mail and the address you chose) belong to us or our licensors. You may use the site to buy and manage a mailbox. You may not copy it, scrape it to build a competing catalog of addresses, or remove notices on it.
Changes to the service, and shutdown
We may change how the site works, which mail host stores the mailboxes, and which features (webmail, clients, reminders) we offer. If we move hosts, we will try to keep your address working for the rest of the paid term. We do not promise that a particular webmail screen will remain available.
If we discontinue the service before a term you already paid for has ended, and the reason is not your breach, we will email the contact address and refund the unused portion of that term as described in the Refund Policy.
Disclaimers
The site and the mailbox are provided "as is" and "as available." Mail delivery depends on networks we do not control, including the mail host, the sender's server, and the public DNS. We do not warrant that delivery will be uninterrupted, that a message will arrive, or that the mailbox will be free of spam.
Nothing in these terms excludes a guarantee, warranty, or remedy that the law does not allow us to exclude. If you are a consumer, you may have rights under the law where you live that these terms cannot take away, including rights where a digital service is not performed with reasonable care.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill, arising out of these terms or the service. Our total liability for all claims relating to a mailbox in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for that mailbox during those 12 months.
This limit does not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any non-excludable consumer right. We are not liable for mail lost because a term ended and the grace period passed without renewal, or because you did not keep a copy.
Indemnity
If a third party brings a claim against us arising out of your mailbox contents, your breach of these terms, or your violation of someone else's rights, you will indemnify us for the resulting damages and reasonable legal fees. This indemnity does not apply to the extent the claim is caused by our own negligence, fraud, or willful misconduct. Where the law does not allow a consumer indemnity of this kind, this section applies only as far as that law allows.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would apply the law of another country. No state and no particular court is named as the exclusive venue. A dispute may be brought in any federal court or state court in the United States that has jurisdiction over the claim. If you are a consumer, you may also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live when a mandatory consumer law gives you that right. We do not require arbitration, and nothing here waives a right to participate in a class or representative action where the law forbids that waiver.
Other terms
- Entire agreement. These terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Refund Policy are the whole agreement about the service. They replace earlier oral or written statements about it.
- Severability. If a provision is held unenforceable, it is modified to the minimum extent required, and the rest stays in force.
- Assignment. You may not assign this contract or the mailbox without our consent. We may assign it to a successor that will operate the service, and we will email the contact address if we do.
- Waiver. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of it.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for a failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages at the mail host, Stripe, or our network providers, and failures of the public internet.
- Third parties. These terms do not give any third party a right to enforce them, except where the law requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page and changing the date above. If a change is material and you have a live mailbox, we will also email the contact address before the change applies to you, unless the change is required by law or by a host's safety rules and cannot wait. The terms in force when you paid for a term continue to cover that term, except for changes you accept by renewing or by continuing to use the mailbox after the notice period.
