Refund Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026.
What this policy covers
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It covers new mailbox purchases and renewals paid through the site. Payments are prepaid amounts for a fixed term. Stripe Managed Payments processes them, and Link is the merchant of record for the charge. WMAD LLC provides the mailbox. There is no subscription to cancel and no automatic charge to stop. A refund of the charge includes any tax Link collected on it. In some places Stripe must still remit that tax, which can reduce our balance even though you are refunded the full amount you paid.
If you never pay
Starting checkout places a one-hour hold on the address and does not charge you. If you close the page, if the card is declined, or if the hour runs out, you owe nothing for that attempt. A hold that expires is not a purchase and there is nothing to refund.
If we take payment and cannot provision the mailbox
If Stripe confirms your payment and we cannot create the mailbox (for example the mail host rejects the request and we cannot complete it), you are entitled to a full refund of that charge. Write to refund@gettingmarried.email and include the address you bought and the contact email you used at checkout. We will either finish provisioning or refund the charge. If we refund, the address is released and may be sold to someone else.
The same rule applies to a renewal: if we take the renewal payment and cannot extend or restore the mailbox, we refund that renewal charge.
Once the mailbox is working
After the mailbox has been created and is reachable, the purchase of that term is final. We do not refund because you changed your mind, chose a different address, used the mailbox less than you expected, or still have time left on the term. The same is true of a renewal once the new term is in place.
You ask us to start immediately by paying. Provisioning begins as soon as the payment succeeds, which is why a cooling-off or withdrawal right ends at that point where the law allows a right to be lost by a request for immediate performance. The acknowledgment before you continue to Stripe's checkout is that request. Where the law does not allow the right to be lost this way, this paragraph yields to that law. Stripe also applies consumer-protection rules on Managed Payments, including regional cooling-off periods, and can refund a transaction within 60 days in certain cases. Those rules override this paragraph wherever they give you a broader right.
When a term ends
If you do not renew, the mailbox is locked for a 7-day grace period and then deleted, contents included. That is the end of the term you bought. It is not a service failure, and it does not entitle you to a refund of the term you already had. Renewing during the grace period buys a new term at the price shown then. It does not refund the previous one.
When the law requires more
This policy does not limit a remedy the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer and the mailbox is unavailable for a substantial part of the paid term because of our fault or our mail host's fault — and not because you breached the terms, lost the password, or did not renew — email refund@gettingmarried.email. We will, at our option, restore the service or refund a proportionate share of the unused term.
If we discontinue the service before a term you already paid for has ended, and the reason is not your breach, we will refund the unused portion of that term. The unused portion is the price you paid for the term, multiplied by the number of whole days left when the service stops, divided by the number of days in the term.
How to ask
For a problem with the mailbox, email refund@gettingmarried.email from, or naming, the contact address on the order. Tell us the mailbox address (the part before @gettingmarried.email), the approximate date you paid, and why you are asking. We will reply within 14 days. You can also ask Link support about the payment itself; Link handles transaction support and may contact us. If we do not answer a support escalation within 48 hours, Stripe may refund the charge without a separate approval from us. Refunds we or Stripe approve are sent back to the original payment method. How long the credit takes to appear depends on Stripe and your card issuer, commonly 5 to 10 business days after it is issued, and sometimes longer.
Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is wrong, email refund@gettingmarried.email or Link support before asking your bank to reverse it. A refund is usually faster than a card dispute. Stripe handles disputes on Managed Payments charges, including deciding whether to contest them and submitting evidence. If a dispute is filed, we may suspend the mailbox while it is unresolved. A dispute that reverses a payment for a mailbox we already provisioned ends our obligation to keep providing that term, and we may delete the mailbox.
Changes
We may update this policy by posting a new version on this page and changing the date above. The version in force when you paid applies to that payment.
